Facilities and Technology

Our school is located in a quiet, residential area on 20 acres of wooded and cleared property. It is home to not only classrooms, but auxiliary facilities that support our curriculum and the BDS experience. 

In addition, the school these facilities for its Kindergarten Division students:

Gymnasium - for Physical Education classes and school-wide assemblies

Outdoor Soccer field - for Physical Education classes

Archaeological Dig - available to all grades for the purposes of digging and studying fossils

Kindergarten/Lower School Playground - featuring appropriate playground equipment with wood-chip mulch beds. In addition to the playground, the school also features a paved blacktop area and various tricycles and other non-motorized toys.

Maude Sharpe Powell Library and Media Center - features a print, non-print and electronic collection designed to support and enrich the school's instructional program. These materials represent varying levels of difficulty with a diversity of appeal compatible with different needs, interests, and viewpoints of students and teachers. 

Computer Lab - features 22 laptop computers for instruction on keyboarding and computer skills. A SMART Board (interactive whiteboard) is utilized extensively in the lab for instructional support.  In addition, each classroom is equipped with either a tabletop or a wall-mounted SMART Board.

Music Room – a dedicated classroom for learning and studying music.

Catering Kitchen – for accommodating the school’s hot lunch program.

Bruins Club Room – a separate classroom just for our after school program.

Centers Room – a dedicated classroom for breaking the class into smaller groups and rotating them through various learning “centers.”
